Three Weeks Old:

"We are clean & cute," say the pups.

Aren't these pups adorable? You can see that their eyes are blue right now. It will be awhile before their eyes turn dark brown, the proper schnauzer eye color. Pups are very responsive to humans at this point, turning their heads at speech and watching me whenever I am next to the box, no doubt hoping I am bringing more of the delicious milk mixture that is their halfway point to weaning.

Remember that the girls are marked on the heads? Here you can see that they are most comfortable laying on top of pups with marks on their shoulders. Breeders have observed that female schnauzers love to be in charge of the male schnauzers. If this photo is any evidence, that instinct kicks in early!!!
